The depot, which stood across the tracks east of the present station, was used as a Union depot form 1855 to 1901, when the present day separate stations were put into use. It was a substantial brick building two stories high, and with an eight-sided tower. Included in the building, was a hotel. Its name was The Central House. The hotel office was on the first floor, while on the second floor were twenty sleeping rooms.
